Blackwater River State Forest, Florida

The large creeks and small rivers found here are the last pristine sand rivers found in the US. It is hard to describe the beauty and silence found while on these waterways which feed into the Escambia Bay in western Florida. This is Florida's largest State Forest. Within it are huge Juniper trees 60 feet tall, Longleaf Pine, and the carnivorous pitcher plant which eats bugs. There are Black Bear and Eagles. You just do not know what you will see around the next bend if you are quiet.
